With over 14 years’ experience in paediatrics, Leona is deeply passionate about two things: delivering high-quality therapy to children and supporting her incredible team of OTs to thrive. Originally from Ireland, she graduated from the University of Liverpool with First-Class Honours before moving to Sydney in 2015.

Leona’s passion lies in making therapy a safe, positive, and empowering experience for children of all ages — and supporting their families every step of the way. She is committed to equipping families with the knowledge and strategies they need to help their children flourish.

She is certified in the SOS® Approach to Feeding, Safe and Sound Protocol, iLs® Listening Therapy, the DIR®/Floortime model, and Learn to Play Therapy. Leona has also completed advanced mentorship at the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder, and holds further training in Autism, baby and infant development, trauma-informed practice, and mental health. As a Mental Health Registered OT, she works holistically to ensure the whole family is at the centre of every intervention.

In addition to her clinical caseload, Leona provides professional supervision, delivers workshops, and mentors emerging therapists. She is recognised for her ability to translate complex clinical concepts into practical, actionable strategies for families, educators, and allied health professionals. Her leadership at OT Kids Academy reflects her commitment to high-quality, holistic care, always placing the child and family at the heart of intervention.

Leona’s greatest joy comes from seeing children grow in confidence and independence — and knowing that our work has made a lasting difference.
